Plant cloning

There are various techniques for cloning plants where one can clone one plant to produce another plant of similar characteristics. This can be done by taking a small clipping in a clone machine after dipping into a cloning solution; this can completely be grown as an independent plant. Most of the cloning machines work by Aeroponic system of cloning. Aeroponics is a way of growing plants indoors maintaining a sterile environment using air as the medium of growing instead of soil. The roots of the plants are sprayed with nutrient rich solution and are allowed to grow healthier and quicker. The nutrient spray keeps the plant protected from pests. Apart from using machines the other major techniques used for cloning are:

1)      Grafting: This method indicates fusion of two different varieties of plants. The upper part of one plant is grafted with the lower part of another plant that results a new breed of plant comprising of the characteristics of both the plants.

2)      Layering: It is a process where stems are encouraged to form roots and develop into a separate and independent plant which is equally productive, strong and healthy.

3)      Cutting: Through cutting most of the cloning for plants are done in the method of hydroponics. A small part from the plant is cut and allowed to grow individually to a full grown plant using proper medium and technique.

Therefore as a whole plant cloning is an effective method to create disease-free plants and plants with desirable traits that includes bigger yields and nutrients.
